The Molecular Basis of Metabolic Adaptation

My research is driven by this sentence above from On The Origin of Species. All organisms are facing a rapidly changing world. To understand them is also to understand ourselves and our future.

To address how organisms cope with changes, I study the behavior and physiology of small mammals, including both laboratory and ecologically relevant models. My interdisciplinary approach incorporates insights from ethology, physiology, biochemistry, and cellular and molecular biology.

Organ crosstalk

How does organ crosstalk help to maintain metabolic homeostasis?

Variations in life history

What are the physiological consequences of variations in life history among species?

Response to challenges

How to identify natural mechanisms for protection against environmental challenges?
